Internship: CRM marketing integration and operations in a non-profit
Location: Paris, rue Barrault 75013 in the INRIA Research center
Duration: 4-6 months (start as soon as possible)
Context
The Software Heritage archive is the universal software source code archive, whose aim is to collect, preserve for the very long term, and share all publicly available source code. The Software Heritage archive already contains over 19 billion unique source files and 3.6 billion commits, retrieved from over 300 million software development projects. The Software Heritage initiative, hosted by the Inria Foundation, is an entirely free software (FOSS) and non-profit project. Software Heritage brings together a team of around fifteen people.
Internship mission
Join our Outreach team, responsible for relations with our vast community, and work closely with the team leader. You will be involved in the deployment of our new CRM tool as well as in our communication and event activities.
This internship aims to allow you to implement sales, purchasing, and marketing processes within the CRM system and participate in the setup of marketing campaigns for the communication and event department of Software Heritage.
You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a CRM management software for partner relations and contribute to the optimization of our marketing and communication operations.

Main tasks and activities
- Contributing to CRM Deployment:
- Implement and continuously improve automated communication journeys for prospects, stakeholder, and former stakeholder.
- Develop content and offers tailored to each target audience.
- Create and monitor reports, track key performance indicators, conduct A/B testing, analyze results, and provide recommendations.
- Create workflows, including memberships and partnerships onboarding
- Operational Management of Marketing Campaigns (Post Go Live):
- Create briefs for various communication content and design email layouts.
- Configure campaigns (emails, social media and feedback forms) using our tools.
- Define targeting and segmentation of our database.
- Assistance in events organization:
- From logistics to communication
- Operational and administrative management of events
- Communication:
- Perform website content updates using WordPress
- Various administrative tasks to support the team.
Skills & Qualifications
Background and experience
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master’s degree in Business school, Engineering school or equivalent
- Show interest for new technologies and discovering Open Science and Open Source.
- Attentive to our community commitment to promoting transparency, accessibility, and collaboration in research and free software development.
- Experience in software or high-tech environments would be a plus
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Curiosity to implement business processes in a non-profit organisation
- Strong interest in understanding stakeholders, their uses and their expectation
- Basic knowledge of CRM, ERP tools, A/B testing of marketing campaigns, mass mailing, spreadsheets, or feedback forms
- Fluent in English and French, with excellent communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
