CodeCommons

CodeCommons, a two-year project funded by the French government, is building on Software Heritage—the world’s largest public source code archive—to create higher-quality datasets for responsible artificial intelligence. Working with French and Italian academic partners (AboutCode, Tweag, CEA, DiverSE, ALManaCH, Cedar, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Scuola Normale Superiore, Università di Pisa, and Università degli Studi di Torino), CodeCommons will expand and enhance the archive, consolidating critical information for next-gen AI tools. Learn more about the projects underway following our January 2025 partner launch in this blog post.
