Society for Research Software in Germany (de-RSE)

Software development is an essential, integral part of research activity. Research lives from the exchange of ideas as well as research data. Without software, a lot of research could and would not exist. Thus, an exchange of publicly available and freely usable research software vitalizes scientific progress.

A comprehensive, permanent archive of open software like Software Heritage is important for the work of researchers developing or maintaining research software: research software engineers (RSEs), and with that, for research as a whole.
