About Me
François is currently an independent researcher working on fake news and the organizer of the workshop Infox sur Seine.
François was VP of Innovation at Sidetrade from 2017 to 2019, following the acquisition of C-Radar by Sidetrade. He was the CEO and co-founder of Data Publica / C-Radar from 2011 to 2017 (a data science startup focusing on enterprise data). He has co-founded and/or managed several other software startups in France and in the US (Mandrakesoft/Mandriva, Arioso, Xyleme, Ucopia, O2Technology).
Before becoming an entrepreneur, François was an academic researcher (at Inria and MCC) and a university professor (at Paris XI), specializing in database theory and technology. François holds an engineering degree from the École des Mines de Paris, a PhD from the University of Michigan and a Doctorate from the University of Paris XI.
He is the co-author with Serge Abiteboul of the book "Vive les communs numériques !"
